Efficiency and Automation in YOUR manufacturing operation plus discussion about the 'skills agenda'
Adam Swallow of CKMA member Olympus Technologies Ltd based in Huddersfield will speak about the opportunities to automate processes within a manufacturing operation and give ‘food for thought’ about reviewing your own processes in your organisation.
Steve Clarke Co-Founder of IT specialists Freeman Clarke will discuss how to move your business to the next level of efficiency depending upon your business needs, whether that is from spreadsheet and paper based systems to a simple MRP or to a full ERP without spending a fortune. We will look at what you need to do to get ready, what the pitfalls might be and how to decide what best suits your business for the next five years. We will also show that by making the right IT investments you can add to the top and bottom line while making your business more efficient.
Automating some processes and using effective IT systems can have a massive impact on productivity and profitability but what about your team? All businesses still need to recruit people into their business and Lindsey Johnson, the LEP Business Ambassador Co-Ordinator will explain more about how CKMA are working with local schools and businesses to attract young people into manufacturing. We also want your views on the ‘skills shortage’ and how this is impacting your business.
There will be a brief AGM with a quick look back at the last year’s activities with Jeff Monks who will be standing down as Chairman and the election of the new Steering Group. Christopher (Tiff) Pateman of Calderdale Engineering Services Ltd has been nominated to join and Martin Booth of Witt Group has kindly offered to stand for election as our new Chairman.
A packed evening followed by a delicious buffet. Do come along and meet other local manufacturers and hear of our plans for future events.
