There was a real ‘buzz’ in the large room at John Smith’s Stadium where over 20 exhibitors brought along examples of the products they design and manufacture plus young ambassadors for the students and teachers to speak to about their roles.  Both students and teachers found it absolutely fascinating and feedback was extremely positive with evidence of an increase in interest in a career in manufacturing of over 50% which was a fantastic outcome for the day’s event.  Manufacturers were also delighted with the engagement and questions they were asked by the students.  A very positive experience for all and another to be planned for 2023.

Along side the LIVE! event we ran a DESIGN CHALLENGE asking students to design a bike of the future using their imagination.  Over 100 entries were received and the judges had a tough choice to pick a winner however there was one which stood out from a student of Crossley Heath Grammar which won the Overall Trophy and an iPad.  Teachers are already asking for the next challenge to use in the curriculum!
