Work placements give an employer first sight of the next generation of young engineers which could help with recruitment pipelines giving you first chance to identify future talent.
Message from a Governor of the College which was rated Excellent in some areas by OFSTED in 2023.
What I will say about the young people coming through the school is that they are in extremely high demand and that for six years (since we opened) every single student has gone onto a positive destination either into further or higher education or into employment. UTC Leeds is now also the #1 school in the UK for the highest % of students which go onto much sought after degree apprenticeships, something we are incredibly proud of. This is down in large part to the students knowing about and developing the ‘soft skills’ all employers say they are looking for, such as resilience, team working, problem solving, communication and those other skills for which there isn’t a qualification and as a consequence is not really discussed in mainstream education. It’s also down in equally large part to the role employers are playing in contextualising the curriculum and bringing the education to life.
If you are not familiar with UTC Leeds then I would be delighted to take you on a tour.
